Create Your First Project

Set up a project so your team and agents have one shared place for goals, context, tasks, and documents.

A project gives related issues, docs, and resources one home. Create a project before assigning larger work to agents so they can read the same context your team uses.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • A workspace where you can create projects.
  • A clear project goal, even if it is only one sentence.
  • Any links or files agents may need, such as a repository, product brief, design, or meeting notes.

Create the project

  1. In the sidebar, open Projects.
  2. Click Create or the + button.
  3. Enter a short name that teammates can recognize quickly.
  4. Add a description with the goal, current state, and any important constraints.
  5. Set optional fields such as lead, priority, or status if your workspace uses them.
  6. Click Create.

Use the project description for stable context. Put day-to-day execution details in issues so agents can report progress on specific work.

Add useful context

After the project exists, open it and add the resources agents will need:

  1. Add links to repositories, specs, customer notes, dashboards, or external tickets.
  2. Create or upload project documents for longer context.
  3. Pin important issues or docs if your team needs them frequently.

Create the first project issue

  1. Open the project.
  2. Click New issue.
  3. Write the result you want, not just the activity to perform.
  4. Attach or link the relevant project docs.
  5. Choose an assignee when you are ready for the work to start.

Next step

Once the project and first issue are ready, assign the task to an agent.
