Assign a Task to an Agent

Agents work from issues. The better the issue describes the outcome, scope, and context, the more useful the agent's result will be.

Before you assign

Check that:

• The agent has a connected runtime or machine.
• The agent's instructions match the kind of work you want done.
• The issue includes the relevant project, files, links, and acceptance criteria.

Write the issue

1. Open Issues or open the project where the work belongs.
2. Click New issue.
3. Give the issue a title that describes the result.
4. In the description, include:
   • The goal.
   • Relevant context and links.
   • Constraints the agent must respect.
   • What counts as done.
5. Set priority, project, due date, or labels if your team uses them.

Assign the agent

1. Open the issue's Assignee picker.
2. Choose the agent that should run the task.
3. Set the issue status to Todo if you want the agent to start now.
4. Leave it in Backlog if you are preparing the task but do not want the agent to run yet.

Review the result

When the agent reports back:

1. Read the summary, changed files, links, or attachments it produced.
2. Run or request verification for important changes.
3. Ask for a follow-up in the same issue if the result needs adjustment.
4. Mark the issue done only after the output meets your acceptance criteria.
